Cutters is a revolutionary chain of hairdressers that has taken Norway with storm since 2015 with its wildly simple concept; efficiency, quality and price . ‘Efficiency’ because a haircut only takes 15 minutes, ‘quality’ because they have some of the best hairdressers in the business and a ‘price’ that is fixed regardless of gender and type of cut. Kind is proud to have created the design and overall branding of this orce in hairdressing. The now 75 salon strong business has created its own line of products. The products follows the same mantra as the chain; a good easy choice, with a bit of an attitude. The line consists of !matte / shiny! black bottles, jars and cans. The design follows strict guidelines. Through a big dot of colour, the product type is categorized, yellow for conditioners, blue for shampoo. Cutters is considered a cheeky rebell. So in order to add some extra flair to the design all the bottles have gotten a cheeky message on the front; Stay Vibrant Forever goes on the Colour Shield, and Brush That Snow Off Your Shoulder on the anti-dandruff. Cutters is a brand that does not take itself too seriously, and this little addition of fun was the perfect amount of playfulness on the overall minimalistic design. One of the most important things for the packaging was to evolve and strengthen the already existing Cutters brand. Through using the brand elements, but refining them and cutting away the excess this packaging presents this product both in a responsible way, oozing quality and knowledge – as well as with a bit of rebellion.
